POST1 Religious Beliefs

For my blog project, I will be researching religious beliefs (770) on the three culture groups I have chosen. I will examine their mythologies(773), various objects and places that are sacred (778), and their spirits and gods (776). I chose these three narrower subjects of religious beliefs because not only did they seem the most interesting, but I am curious to find out how these cultures view life and more importantly, the afterlife. To add, these three aspects of religious beliefs are key components to finding possible overlap between these three cultures. That is why I chose these subjects for my overarching theme. For the three cultures I will study, I chose the Zulu, Sami, and Zapotec cultures. These three cultures live in environments that are very different. I wonder if their environments resulted in drastically different religious beliefs; which I hope will make my studies into their cultures that much more interesting.

  1. Hello!
I really like the topic that you chose, it was actually my second choice if I didn't choose education! I find the different beliefs that each culture has to be very fascinating, especially ones about the after life. Are you going to look at any specific spirits and gods when you touch on those subjects? I am so excited to read your future posts about these topics!

  2. Religious belief is a good topic and I am doing the same, but kinda different because most of my research will be based on religious practices from west Africa to Australia. I will talk about religious beliefs too so, we will see how their culture and belief relate or different or how they alter one another.

  3. I'm glad you chose religious beliefs just because it is a very diverse subject and is important to many cultures across the globe. For example we both grew up in the Cincinnati area which happens to be very catholic with lots of private catholic schools and churches every mile on dixie highway.
